Could Seeing a Chiropractor Improve My Golf Performance?
The game of golf is a very involved sport, both mentally and physically for the individual. The body, and more importantly, the nervous system is making thousands upon thousands of neuromuscular connections on a millisecond basis to allow for body movements to occur.
Our nervous systems (brain, spinal cord and nerves) control all other systems in our bodies and without it’s proper communication and function, all other systems, including our muscular and skeletal systems will begin the process of breaking down. What is the major culprit to cause this break down, you ask? Something in chiropractic that we call “subluxation”. Subluxation is another term for misalignment that, in turn, causes damaging tension and stress within our spinal core. The scary part about subluxations, is that they often go unnoticed!
Subluxations in your spine may cause abnormal movement patterns beyond your control. For example, if your thoracic spine (middle back) is misaligned and restricted, your lower back may endure a hefty amount of rotation during your golf swing that it is not designed to do. Over time, this may lead to lower back problems including a Reverse Spine Angle, S Posture and Hanging Back during your golf swing. Additional areas that are very important to golf, are the hips and sacrum. These areas need to move freely and properly to produce a beautiful balanced golf swing.
In our office, we utilize technology called the Insight neuro spinal scanning system to detect and monitor all areas of your spine that may be enduring harmful subluxations.
A winning solution is to partner with a professional golf instructor, like Mr. Mindel along with a chiropractor to enhance your golf performance and ensure that your nervous system is freely connecting, communicating and functioning at its absolute best. With the golf season quickly approaching, the time is now to be evaluated for proper golf mechanics and subluxation!
